Current events
- Gradings
If you interested in grading before Xmas, please e-mail +let me know.I can send you the syllabusses in TKD,Kickboxing or Mixed arts if you are already training in this scheme.
Black Tags...if you are aiming for 1st Dan, have a month next year in mind, so it gives you and us a chance to focus.
1st Dans (TKD/Mixed Arts)...you can grade to 1st Dan in Kickboxing or 2nd Dan in Mixed arts as long as you can do the stuff.
Members interested in grading (Taekwondo/Kickboxing/Mixed Arts) please register your interest and ask for syllabuses. A date can then be set and you can realise your aims.
Taekwondo grading includes traditional patterns. The emphasis is on you to decide your grading goals.
You can achieve a black belt 1st Dan here in any of the above. - Sparing
If there is anyone out there who would be willing to organise sparring sessions on a Saturday once or twice a month, please let me know. I thing there would be a good take up.I would help. - Info to all:-
At present Sunday sessions are taking place on a Tuesday 7.30-8.55 The sessions are the same format as a Sunday.(stretch/kick/core/various etc.)
These sessions are oriented towards martial arts technique, flexibility and muscle conditioning (among all the other things-we are not manacled!)
In order to offer a balanced club, Thursdays will offer other areas not covered on the Tuesday kickboxing / boxing / Thai / Grappling / sparring / Kali etc..
I do not want Thursdays to suffer due to high attendance on a Tuesday if that can be avoided.
Let us see how it all pans out. - Tuesdays are at present very busy. Please try to make the Thursday sessions.
The content and emphases of the two evenings are different and will undoubtedly be beneficial. - MMA club open in town. Limited space, very soft padded floor, but great if you want to improve ground-work/throws.Open at times during day.See me for further details.
How is training organised?
Training is versatile and enjoyable. We train (and offer grades) in many disciplines.
These include:
- Korean TaeKwonDo,
- Muay Thai,
- Brazilian and Japanese Jiu Jitsu,
- Jun Fan Kung Fu,
- Kickboxing and Boxing,
- Panantukan(Phillipino empty hand)
Kali(single and double stick and knife).
This is a friendly but disciplined club which consists of men and women from 7-mid fifties. Kids are taught in separate classes. The emphasis is on respectful and safe training in an enjoyable environment. Chief Instructor Colin Lawrence has been training for 30 years and has been running these clubs since 1986. It is an extremely well-equipped club with everything a martial artist needs(focus mitts/kickpads/Thai pads/kick paddles/punch-bag/Escrima sticks/knives/safety sparring gear and a matted area). We cover all ranges from long-distance kicking to groundwork. Gradings take place twice or three times a year. There is a flexible curriculum and students can set their goals and plan their progress. Many students have graded to 1st and 2nd Dan Black belt.
Students can choose their classes. They can arrive and leave at the beginning or end of any class and do not have to stay all evening (which helps if energy is at a premium).
All-round fitness is a priority and we focus on all areas including flexibility training. If you are new to the area and have trained before in any style,or are totally new to martial arts, visit the club in Leighton Buzzard or e-mail for further details.
